Welcome Team Zambia - Global Village Build - Orphans and Vulnerable Children Program

Friday, 10 February 2012

Welcome one and all to this incredible journey we're about to embark on. Some, for the first time, others that have done this before- thank you for choosing to spend your vacation time getting dirty, working till the sweat pours off your brow and you're dead tired after day 1, traveling for days to get there, spending all the money to do the build, begging for donations, raising money, re-arranging busy work schedules, explaining to people that think you're crazy to do this and so on....

Your rewards will be plenty- you'll be tired, dusty, dirty, happy, sad, moved, you will laugh, cry, dance, play soccer, blow bubbles, eat food with sand in it, make new friends, want to strangle one another occasionally, sleep in strange beds, have no privacy, make your own lunches, sing and dance, fall in love with people you've just met,and at the end of it all- you'll be sad to leave.

Your decision to join the team has made this possible- lives will change for these families in so many positive ways for generations to come.

Please use this blog to keep informed, ask as many questions as you want, add suggestions, meet your fellow team-mates, share ideas to make this build the best experience for everyone.

A big Thank You to sister Katie who built in Zambia in 2010 and 2011 ( I'm still working on her to get on Team Zambia 2012!), and who has become the official Zamblogger.

Any questions of a blog nature, Katie will guide you through with ease- I would just get you lost and frustrated.
